Application & Qualifying
Can I get a loan with a low credit score?
We don’t rely on your credit score from one of the three major credit bureaus to determine if you qualify for a loan with Clear Air Lending. We encourage you to submit an application. It only takes a few minutes. Most applicants see their loan decision on the screen just a few minutes after they click Submit.
Do you make loans to people with bad credit?
Our guidelines are more inclusive than those used by traditional lenders, like banks and credit unions. We don’t rely on your credit score from one of the three major credit bureaus to determine if you qualify for a loan. As such, bad credit has a very different meaning to us. Submit an application with us, that way we can look at your unique situation.
I've never borrowed before. Do you make no credit loans?
Clear Air Lending does not make loans based on your credit history with one of the three major credit bureaus. We run a credit check with the specialized credit bureaus, and not the major bureaus used by banks and credit unions. We also look at other data sources to determine your creditworthiness. We encourage you to apply with us.
Will my credit score change if I apply with Clear Air Lending?
We don’t do a credit check with the three major credit bureaus, the ones that calculate credit scores used by lenders like banks and credit unions. Your credit score with those bureaus should not be impacted. We utilize alternate data sources who may obtain information from one of the three major credit bureaus. If they do, your application with Clear Air Lending may show as a soft inquiry on your credit report from the three major bureaus. However, the three major bureaus don’t consider soft inquiries when calculating credit scores.
What are the minimum requirements to qualify for a loan with Clear Air Lending?
You’ll need a consistent, verifiable source of income, an open and active checking account, and be able to provide verifiable and accurate information as to your identity. Also, you must meet all legal requirements to enter into a contract. (All verifications can be done automatically online for most applicants.)
What is Instant Bank Verification?
We use Instant Bank Verification (“IBV”), a secure and safe process, to verify that your checking account is open and active. We built IBV into our online loan application to save you time. If you do not agree to IBV or your bank does not support IBV, we must contact your bank with you on the phone to verify your account. In such cases, you’ll see an instruction appear on screen asking you to call us. By opting into IBV, you grant us one-time, temporary access to view your bank statements. Granting us IBV access does NOT allow us to withdraw, credit, or transfer funds from/to your account. We are not able to access your account again in the future either.
How much can I borrow?
If approved, new and returning customers can borrow between $300 and $2500.
I don't have an offer code. What do I do?
You don’t need an offer code to apply with Clear Air Lending. Just click the “Don’t have an offer code? Click here,” and you’ll go right to the next step in the application.
I received an offer code from Clear Air Lending, but I don't remember what it is. How do I apply?
We’ll match you to any active offer you have on our end. Just click the “Don’t have an offer code? Click here,” and you’ll go right to the next step in the application.
I already started an application with you, but did not submit it yet. How do I get back to where I left off?
Click the Continue Application link in the top of this website and login. You’ll start at the last step you completed, so you can finish and submit your application. If you started your application more than 14 days ago, you may be directed to the start of the process once you login.
My application is in Review. What do I do now?
Don’t worry. Periodically we receive an application that requires additional attention.
We’ll email you if we need additional documentation from you to make a decision. Be sure to send in any documents we requested as soon as possible so we can issue a decision.
We may just need to take a second look at the request, and not need any additional information from you.
It won’t take us long either way.
Once we complete the review, you’ll get a decision by email. If that email says that your application is approved, click the link in the email or on Continue Application in the top navigation of this website. Login and you’ll land on the next step(s) you need to complete so we can fund your loan.
You have 7 days from the date that you submit your application to complete the approved loan steps. After that time, we’ll automatically withdraw your application and send you a notice by email. You’ll be able to apply again in 30 days.
I submitted my application. How do I get back to it?
If you need to check on your application decision or review and sign your loan documents, click Continue Application in the top of this website and login. You’ll start at the last step you completed.
You have 7 days from the time you submit your application to finish the review and sign process. After that time, your application will be automatically withdrawn, and you’ll get a notice by email. You can reapply after 30 days.
If you already signed your loan documents and your loan funds have been sent out, click My Account in the top navigation menu of this website. Login to self-service to view your loan documents and other information about your loan.
My application was not approved. May I apply again?
If your application was denied, you are welcome to reapply after 30 days.
I applied with a different company. They sent me to Clear Air Lending. Why?
The company you initially contacted and provided information to was a third-party lead provider. You may have found them via an internet search or advertisement, or you visited their site directly. Their website or the disclosures that they provide to you should disclose that they are not a lender. That company you initially contacted connects you to a lender via a network. We participate in that network to acquire qualified consumers. We’re thankful for the opportunity to help you Clear the air of short-term financial stress. Loan & Funding
Where is my money? When can I expect to receive my loan funds?
Once you sign your loan documents, we’ll send your funds to your bank via ACH within 1 business day. If that day falls on a bank holiday or a non-banking day, the funds will go out the next business day that banks are open. If you don’t see your loan funds posted to your checking account in this timeframe, contact your bank first.
What is an Annual Percentage Rate or APR?
APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. It is the total cost of credit, and not your interest rate. It includes the total interest you will pay in a year (or for the term of your loan if less than a year) plus any fees charged at the time the loan is made. That total is divided by the amount you borrow (the principal) to calculate the APR. By law, all lenders must disclose the APR in the loan agreement. You should use the APR to compare one loan to another as it reflects the true cost of credit.
The APR does not include late fees, returned item fees, or other fees you might incur after the loan is funded and you begin making payments.
Do you charge origination, application or other fees to get a loan with Clear Air Lending?
Clear Air Lending does not charge any fees to apply with us, take out a loan, or other fees considered as part of your finance charges. You will be charged interest on the amount you borrow. You may incur late fees, returned item fees, or other fees once you begin repayment if you pay late or your payment is returned by your bank.
If I enroll in autopay, do I get any benefits? If I allow you to automatically draft my payments, do I get a discount?
We’ll give you the option to enroll in autopay if your application is approved. You will make your selection before you review and sign your loan documents. By enrolling in autopay, you’re giving us permission to draft your payments from your checking account when they are due. With autopay, your payment is never late, and you avoid being charged late fees. We’ll discount APR by 25-percentage points, too. You’ll see this reflected on your loan agreement.
How do I sign my loan documents?
We make reviewing your loan documents and signing a breeze. If you are approved, in most cases you will see a message letting you know that decision soon after you submit your loan application. Click the button to review your loan documents and then electronically sign them all online from your computer, smartphone or tablet. The system is secure, simple and straightforward. If you have any questions in the process, click the chat icon in the lower right corner of your screen to get Clear answers.
How do I save or print my loan documents?
If approved, click the button in the application to review and sign your loan documents. As you progress through each document, click on the printer icon in the top right corner to print each document or save to your device. After we fund your loan, click the My Account button at the top of the page to login and see those documents anytime.
How will I receive my money from my Clear Air Lending Loan?
Once you sign your loan documents in our secure, online portal, Clear Air Lending will deposit the amount you borrow (the principal) in your checking account by ACH. ACH stands for Automated Clearing House network. It is a secure and fast way to send and receive money. You may know this process as direct deposit.
What if I change my mind after I sign my loan agreement? How do I cancel my loan?

How may I lower the cost of my loan? How can I pay less in finance charges?
We’re so glad you asked! Other than enrolling in autopay before you signed you loan documents, we have three ways to help you reduce the amount you pay in finance charges now or in the future.

Will Clear Air Lending charge me a prepayment fee or prepayment penalty if I pay my loan off early?
Of course not. That would go against our commitment to empowering consumers to build a better financial future.
One of my payments is due on a weekend or bank holiday. I am enrolled in autopay. What happens?
Any autopay drafts for a payment due on a Saturday, Sunday, or banking holiday will be debited from your account on the following business day. Always refer to your signed loan agreement for specific details.
My bank account information changed. How do I update my autopay?
Please contact us at least 3 business days prior to your next payment due date. Be sure to have your bank name, routing number, and account number ready.
What if I cannot make my next payment?
Please contact us at least 3 business days prior to your next payment due date to discuss your options. Non-payment of your loan could result in late fees and, ultimately, collection activities. We may have options to help.
How do I get my information about my loan like my next payment due date, outstanding balance, etc.?
Access your account 24/7 to get your next payment due date, payment amount, outstanding balance and more by clicking My Account in the top navigation menu. From there, login to our user-friendly and secure self-service system to get the Clear view on these details and more.
How do I make an additional payment on my loan? How do I make extra payments?
We’ve got a straightforward way for you to make an additional payment on your loan whenever and wherever you want. To access the Self Service Portal and make an addtional payment, click on My Account in the top navigation menu.
How do I pay my loan off early?
You can schedule a pay in full anytime in our secure Self Service Portal. Click here for details on how to schedule a pay in full. To access the Self Service Portal, click on My Account in the top navigation menu.

Future Loans & Returning Customers
Do you offer discounts or other benefits to returning customers?
Yes! We’re committed to helping you on your path to financial freedom. Clear Access from Clear Air Lending provides higher loan amounts and lower Annual Percentage Rates (“APRs”) to qualified returning customers.
May I refinance my loan? Am I able to get additional funds?
We recommend paying your loan off early to save on charges and then reapply. If you qualify for Clear Access, you can get a higher loan amount at the reduced Clear Access APR on that next loan. Clear Air Lending does not offer a refinance loan or a refinance loan with cash out at this time.
Can I borrow more with Clear Access from Clear Air Lending?
Qualified returning customers may receive a higher loan amount based on their status, up to $2,500.
How do I apply for a Clear Access loan with Clear Air Lending?
Once you make your final payment and it clears your bank account, it’s smooth sailing. Click My Account to login. Then click the “Apply for a new loan” button. Your expedited Clear Access loan application will take a just a few more minutes from there.
How do I know if I qualified for Clear Access?
We’ll send you emails after you pay your current loan in full to let you know if you qualify for Clear Access. The emails will include your Clear Access status (Amber or Ruby).
If your final payment has cleared your bank and you need to another loan before you receive an email, please click My Account to login. Then click the “Apply for a new loan” button to begin your expedited application. We’ll automatically apply any Clear Access benefits you’ve earned.
I applied for my first loan through a third party. Can I apply directly with Clear Air Lending if I need a loan in the future?
Please do! If you need a loan in the future, helping you would really make the sun shine through for our team. Click My Account to login. Then click the “Apply for a new loan” button. Your expedited Clear Access loan application will take just a few more minutes from there.
I qualified for Clear Access. Why is my loan amount not higher on my Clear Access loan?
Status is not the only determining factor regarding the loan amount offered. You must meet the underwriting requirements for a loan amount increase. A change in income, employment, or debts can impact your loan amount.

How do I update my communications preferences?
Visit the Clear Air Lending Subscription Center and enter your email address. You’ll see a list of all the communications available for you to manage. Update what types of communications you’d like to receive from us and in what format by checking or unchecking the box by that communication.
How will Clear Air Lending contact me?
Clear Air Lending uses electronic communications in the form of Emails and Texting with appropriate consent. Our communications may include links to clearairlending.com, cal.loans.com, or simply direct you to the appropriate landing page. If you ever have questions about a link please go to the website and contact us via chat, email, or call customer service.

Applications approved by 4:00 pm PST Monday thru Friday are typically funded the next business day. Clear Air Lending may perform credit checks or otherwise verify the personal and financial information submitted on your application through traditional and alternative credit bureaus. If we are unable to verify your application information electronically, we will perform a manual verification in which you will be asked to provide certain documents. Manual verification may delay your loan decision, if you are approved funding. Clear Air Lending customers may qualify for a loan of $300 to $2,500. Complete disclosures of APR, fees, and payment terms are set forth in the loan agreement which you should read before you sign and obtain funds. Your loan may be repaid at any time without penalty.
